About Next Role

Every application should sound like your strongest self.
That's why Next Role exists.

Next Role started from a simple observation: capable people often already have the right experience, but not the time or energy to reshape it for every role. When a nurse moves into health tech or a senior engineer steps into a new domain, the signal is already there. It just needs clearer framing.

The gap is rarely talent. It is usually translation: bringing forward the evidence this role needs to see, in the language this role responds to. Next Role closes that gap.

How it started

I built Next Role after watching people I respect pour real care into application after application without a clear way to know whether their CV was doing them justice. The effort was there. The experience was there. What was missing was a calmer, clearer way to shape that experience for the role in front of them.

The insight that drove the product is simple: stronger applications come from clearer framing, not fabrication. The same experience, described in the language a specific role responds to, becomes a more convincing application. Still true. Still yours. Just shaped with more care for the reader.

Next Role automates that translation. It reads the role description, brings forward the experience that matters most, and scores the result across five dimensions so you know what to strengthen before you hit send.

Who built it

Next Role is part of Hyperdrift — a small studio that builds focused tools for real moments in people's lives. No venture funding. No growth team. One person, steadily refining whether the product truly helps the people it is meant to serve.

Next Role is free to try — no account, no credit card — because job seekers should feel the value before committing anything. If it helps you see your next application more clearly, it has already done something worthwhile.

“The difference between the right word and the almost-right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug.”

— Mark Twain

That's the whole product, in one sentence. Next Role finds the right word.
